Attempted Murder Arrest

Arrested: Demeshia Harris, 29 year old female, Marin City, CA.

On February 24th 2021 around 8:41PM, Communications Dispatchers with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing in the area of Cole Drive in Marin City. Deputies were immediately dispatched to the area and the first unit arrived approximately 2 minutes later. Deputies requested Marin County and Southern Marin Fire personnel to stage in the area. 

Upon arrival, Deputies located a female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds inside an apartment. Immediate care was provided to the victim and fire was requested into the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Deputies contacted Demeshia Harris in a nearby apartment with blood on her body. A knife with blood on it was located nearby and collected as evidence. Through our investigation it was determined Harris and the victim were involved in a fight earlier. Harris retrieved a knife and a second altercation occurred with the victim suffering multiple stab wounds inflicted by Harris. Harris kicked and resisted Deputies when she was placed under arrest. Harris was arrested for the following crimes:

Attempted Murder – 664/187 PC

Assault with a deadly weapon – 245(A)(1) PC

Obstruction with violence – 69 PC

Harris was booked into the Marin County Jail where she is currently being held on $500,000 bail.
