Automobile - Pedestrian Collision Fatality on U.S. Highway 101 Offramp in San Rafael - Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

Dustin Wade LAMB, a 35-year-old male from San Rafael, CA.

On Tuesday November 02, 2022, at approximately 9:20 PM it was reported to 9-1-1 a pedestrian had been struck by a motorist exiting northbound U.S. Highway 101 on the offramp leading to Lucas Valley / Smith Ranch Roads.  For reasons unknown and remain under investigation, the subject and another pedestrian were standing on the exit ramp roadway, when the departing motorist struck the subject.  The collision occurred near a bus stop.  First Responders were immediately dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival located the subject unconscious and unresponsive in the roadway shoulder.  A deputy from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office provided CPR until the arrival of paramedics, who evaluated the subject noting physiologic signs of death present.  The subject was pronounced deceased on the scene. The vehicle driver remained on the scene and was cooperative with the ensuing investigation.  

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

Dustin Wade LAMB, a 35-year-old male from San Rafael, CA.

A forensic postmortem examination with toxicology testing has been scheduled for later this week.  The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the California Highway Patrol – Marin Office and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol – Marin Office.
