Burglary and prowling suspect arrested after extensive investigation

Arrested: Karl Vincent D’Angelo, 52 year old male, Santa Rosa, CA.

On January 17th, 2020, at approximately 9:30 pm, Marin County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Karl Vincent D’Angelo in the Strawberry Area after he was seen walking away from a side yard of a victim from a previous burglary. The arrest was the result of a month long investigation where D’Angelo was identified as a possible burglary suspect at that same residence 3 weeks prior. In that case, which occurred on December 22, 2019, D’Angelo is suspected of entering the occupied home of an elderly victim while she slept.  The victim was awoken by the presence of a stranger in her bedroom.  When she yelled out the suspect fled from the house naked. Patrol Deputies later checked with other residents on that street and discovered that a person and vehicle not known to the residents was seen loitering in the area a week prior to the incident.  Detectives were able to zero in on D’Angelo after learning an alert neighbor photographed the suspicious vehicle.  D’Angelo is pending similar charges in Sonoma County and was released on bail for that case.

D’Angelo was booked into the Marin County Jail for the following offenses:

646.9 (A) PC – Stalking

314.2 PC – Indecent exposure

368(B)(1) PC – Elder Abuse with great bodily injury likely

459 PC – Burglary

12022.1(B) PC – Commit felony while out on bail

647(H) PC – Prowling
