Highway 101 Motorcyclist Collision Fatality Identification Released

The decedent has been identified as:

Marie Noelle SIEGENTHALER, 29-year-old resident of San Francisco

On Monday, March 26, 2018, at approximately 10:13 PM, First Responders were dispatched to southbound Highway 101 north of Tiburon Boulevard for the report of a motorcycle rider down in the travel lanes of the highway.  First Responders arrived on the scene shortly after and discovered the operator of motorcycle unresponsive in the travel portion of the roadway, who had been struck by a passing vehicle, which failed to remain at the scene and render aid.  Unfortunately as a result of the collision, the operator of the motorcycle suffered extensive traumatic injuries and her death was pronounced on the scene by paramedics. 

The decedent has been identified as:

Marie Noelle SIEGENTHALER, 29-year-old resident of San Francisco

A forensic post mortem examination and toxicology testing have been scheduled for later this week.  The cause and manner of death will be pending toxicology results and the conclusion of the investigation by California Highway Patrol, Marin Office.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol, Marin Office / PIO Andrew Barclay. 

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and personnel of the Coroner Division offers our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Siegenthaler.
