On Friday, December 07, 2018, at approximately 1:49 pm, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a telephone call from the California Highway Patrol, Marin Office reporting the death of an unidentified adult male subject and requested the assistance of the Coroner Division.  The Coroner Division staff responded to the incident scene and completed a comprehensive field investigation, which later led to the positive identification of the subject. 

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Anthony John YORK, a 35-year-old male from Sausalito, CA.

An investigation into the cause, mode, manner and circumstances of death is currently underway by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Coroner Division and the California Highway Patrol, Marin Office.  A forensic post mortem examination with toxicology testing has been scheduled for later this week.   The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusions of the aforementioned investigation, examination, and testing results.  No further information will be released at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.
