Nicasio Motorcycle Collision Fatality - Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

James Glenn BUTCHER, a 65-year-old male from San Rafael, CA.

On Wednesday March 16, 2022, at approximately 6:06 PM, a collision involving a solo motorcyclist in the 5000 block of Lucas Valley Road was reported to 9-1-1.  For unknown reasons and remain under investigation, the operator lost control of the motorcycle and struck a utility pole.  Emergency Services responded to the scene and located the subject unconscious, unresponsive and in cardiopulmonary arrest with bystander aid- CPR being provided.  Paramedics provided additional resuscitative aid to the subject on the scene with no change in his condition until his death was pronounced.

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

James Glenn BUTCHER, a 65-year-old male from San Rafael, CA.

A forensic postmortem examination with toxicology testing will be completed on Friday, March 18, 2022.  The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the California Highway Patrol – Marin Office and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol – Marin Office.
