Samuel P. Taylor State Park Motor Vehicle Collision Fatality – Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Nancy Dee Hechtman Jacobsen, a 72-year-old female from Forest Knolls, CA.

On Monday afternoon, November 25, 2019 at approximately 2:25 P.M., a solo vehicle collision was reported to 9-1-1 having occurred within the Samuel P. Taylor State Park, located in the 8800 block of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.  An independent and unrelated subject came upon the collision scene, and located the occupied, overturned vehicle down an embankment approximately thirty feet from the roadway edge. The vehicle came to rest near the Lagunitas Creek. Upon First Responder arrival at the scene, Ms. Jacobsen was discovered unconscious and unresponsive inside the vehicle.  Sadly, her death was pronounced at 2:44 P.M. on the scene.  At the time of this writing and which remains under investigation, it is unknown why her vehicle left the roadway.

A forensic post mortem examination and toxicology testing have scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, 2019.  The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigation being completed by the California Highway Patrol - Marin Office and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol - Marin Office.
