San Rafael Traffic Collision Fatality- Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

Dolores Elizabeth HEEB, a 74-year-old female from San Rafael.

On Saturday January 21, 2023, at approximately 07:25 AM a solo motor vehicle collision was reported to 9-1-1 having occurred near the intersection of westbound Point San Pedro Drive at Bayview Drive in San Rafael. For reasons unknown and remains under active investigation, the operator and sole occupant of a 2019 Tesla sedan vehicle, lost control of her vehicle, veered off the roadway, crashed through a residential fence into the rear yard of a Bonnie Banks Way residence, coming to rest in am inground pool.  First Responders were immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived shortly after locating an unconscious and unresponsive subject.  She was extricated from the vehicle and her death pronounced on the scene.  

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

Dolores Elizabeth HEEB, a 74-year-old female from San Rafael.

Identification of the subject was delayed pending notification to next of kin.

A forensic postmortem forensic examination with toxicology testing is being completed on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.  The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the California Highway Patrol – Marin Office and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol – Marin Office.
