On May 25, 2016 at about 5:00pm, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the end of Fairway Drive in Novato, CA for a subject who reported he had been shot.  Deputies arrived on scene and located two victims.  One victim was transported to the hospital and recovered from his injuries.  The other victim succumbed to his injuries and died.

In response to this incident, Sheriff’s Office Detectives launched one of the most extensive investigations in department history.  During the course of this investigation, one of the suspects was identified as Javier Guevara.  Guevara is a 24 year old Hispanic male with ties to Novato, CA.  

Guevara was taken into custody today by Sheriff’s Office personnel with the assistance of the Marin County District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshall’s Service.  Guevara is the seventh arrest made by Sheriff’s Office Detectives in relation to this horrific incident.  Guevara was booked on the following charges in the Marin County Jail:

187 PC - Murder 

664/187 – Attempted Murder

205 PC – Aggravated Mayhem
