First Quarter 2021 statistics for sUAS Team deployments by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office
02/08/2021 – Mission Type: Assist Novato Fire Department to Document Scene of Fatal House Fire.

The Novato Fire Department requested assistance obtaining video evidence to document the scene of a fatal residential structure fire in Novato. The sUAS Team responded and conducted one flight to capture an overview of the scene which was later provided to Novato Fire Investigators.
02/24/21 – Mission Type: Assist MCSO Patrol Division with Missing Person Case.

Offense: N/A
The sUAS Team was requested to assist the Marin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division search for a missing person in the area of China Camp State Park. The sUAS Team responded and flew three flights in the area to look for the missing person. The missing person was not located.
02/28/21 – Mission Type: Assist MCSO Investigations Division with Suspicious Death Investigation

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division requested the assistance of the sUAS Team to assist with documenting the scene of a suspicious death in China Camp State Park. The sUAS Team responded and flew two flights over the area to document the scene and search for additional evidence.
03/15/21 – Mission Type: Search for Wanted Suspect in Theft Case

Offenses: PC 484€, PC 475C, PC 530.5(c)(1), HS 11350(A), HS 11364, HS 11357(A)(2), PC 459.5, and PC 182.
Deputies were dispatched to the report of a shoplifting in progress at Walgreens in Tam Valley. While responding, the suspects fled in a vehicle that was subsequently stopped by deputies. During the traffic stop, one of the four occupants of the suspect vehicle fled from the vehicle on foot. A search for the suspect who fled was conducted by deputies. The sUAS Team was requested to assist in the search for the outstanding suspect. The sUAS team responded and conducted three flights to search for the suspect. The suspect was not located.
