During the course of the investigation, the suspect has been identified as Charles Welch. Welch is a 37 year old black male with ties to Marin City, Novato, San Francisco, and Santa Rosa. Welch has no known vehicles. Welch is further described as, 6’1” 230lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Welch, and he should be considered armed and dangerous.

On February 7, 2016 at about 10:00am, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls of a disturbance and gun shots being fired near 99 Cole Drive in Marin City. Deputies arrived on scene and located two victims who had been shot several times. The victims were both pronounced deceased by medical personnel on scene.
No further details regarding the investigation will be released at this time.
