Coroner’s Investigators investigate and report death cases which fall within the jurisdiction of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office – Coroner’s Division.  Incumbents in this position take charge of the death scene and the body of the deceased, safeguard the personal property of the deceased, locate and notify the next of kin, and conduct other duties as required..

The Coroner's Investigator is a journey level position and is expected to function with initiative and considerable independence within policy and procedural guidelines.
