Helen Vine Detox Center Shooting Update

Helen Vine Detox Center Shooting


The suspect identified as being responsible for this morning’s triple shooting at the Helen Vine Detox Center is; Davance Lamar Reed, Age 37, transient between Marin City and Vallejo.  Detectives interviewed Reed in the Sonoma County Jail where he is being held in custody for an early morning pursuit not related to the shooting. Reed made admissions to the detectives which tied him to the crime scene. He remains in custody at the Sonoma County Jail pending local charges. The timeframe for his transfer to Marin County is unknown at this time.


The surviving victims of the shooting are identified as Anthony Dominguez Mansapit, age 32, an employee of the facility and Brittney Kehaulani McCann, age 30, Marin City, who has a dating relationship with the suspect.  They both remain in ICU at Marin General Hospital.


The Marin County Coroner’s Office will identify the decedent at a later date pending notification of next of kin.   The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community for its patience while the detectives worked to identify the suspect in this case.
