Identity of Highway-37 fatality released

The passenger involved in the traffic collision fatality has been identified by the Coroner Division as Arthur Loyd Deleray, an 81-year-old male resident of Sonoma, CA.

On June 29, 2017 at approximately 1505 hours, a 911 call was received reporting a traffic collision on eastbound Highway-37, east of Atherton Avenue in Novato.  Multiple vehicles were involved.  Personnel from the California Highway Patrol, Novato Fire Protection District, Marin County Sheriff’s Office, and the CHP – Golden Gate Division Air Operations responded to the scene.  A man inside one of the vehicles, a red Lexus sedan, was unresponsive.  This man was the right front passenger of the sedan.  Despite the lifesaving efforts by the emergency personnel, this man passed away and his death was pronounced on scene. 

The decedent has been identified as follows:

     Arthur Loyd DELERAY, an 81-year-old male resident of Sonoma, CA.

A post mortem examination and toxicology testing have been scheduled. The cause and manner of death will be pending toxicology results and the conclusion of the investigation by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office – Coroner Division, and the California Highway Patrol. No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active investigation. Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol – Marin Area: Officer Andrew Barclay / 415-407-3924
