Identity theft arrest

On February 12, 2018 a resident from Strawberry came to the Marin City substation to report that her bank account had been unlawfully accessed and money withdrawn without her permission.  The resident had went to her bank and found out there were several checks cashed against her account at businesses in Solano County.  One of the names used to cash the fictitious checks happened to be a victim of Identity theft that resides in Solano County.  That victim was in the process of clearing his name with one of the businesses that a fictitious check was passed and provided a Police report taken by the Lake County Sheriff's Office.  In that report a suspect by the name of Jerald Doctor was arrested for drug possession and had the Solano County victims identification / credit cards in his possession at the time of his arrest.  MCSO detectives located Jerald Doctor, age 49, in Lake County this morning and arrested him for Forgery, Burglary, Make/Pass Fictitious Check and Identity Theft.  Detectives also served a search warrant at Doctor's residence in Vallejo finding evidence consistent with manufacturing identification and the possibility of other victims from Solano and Lake County.  It is unknown how Doctor came to possess the victims bank account information.  Doctor was booked into the Marin County Jail.
