Marin City Shooting

On September 25, 2018 at around 11:30pm Marin County Communication’s Center received multiple calls reporting the sound of gunshots in the area of the Golden Gate Village housing complex.  While deputies were searching the area, Marin General Hospital called the Sheriff’s Office reporting an adult male in the ER with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower body. Deputies found spent ammunition casings in the 200 lot of Drake Ave and at the intersection of Lower Cole / Drake.  Deputies contacted a suspicious person in the area and found a semi-automatic firearm concealed on his person.  The firearm was determined to be the weapon used in the shooting.  David Martin Sheik Umar Jah II, Age 22, San Francisco, CA was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon/ Firearm, Willfully discharging a firearm in negligent manner causing injury and carrying a concealed weapon.  Detectives were called out to the scene for interviews and to process evidence.  The victim has family that resides in Marin City but lists his address as “All Points”. Jah was booked into the Marin County Jail.
