Marshall Motor Vehicle Fatality Identity Released

The decedent involved in a traffic fatality in Marshall on January 29, 2018 has been identified as:

Ricardo DeSantiago, an 18-year-old male resident of Marshall, CA.

On Monday, January 29, 2018 at approximately 4:39 PM, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was notified of a vehicle collision near 18863 Shoreline Highway in Marshall.

The collision involved a Honda Prelude coupe traveling southbound on Shoreline Highway, which reportedly collided with a semi-truck truck travelling northbound.  Emergency personnel responded to the scene and located an unresponsive male passenger still inside the Honda Prelude coupe requiring rescue.  The subject was extricated from the right front passenger seat of the vehicle and pronounced deceased at 5:04 PM, on the scene by First Responders. 

The deceased male passenger has been identified as:

Ricardo DeSantiago, an 18-year-old male resident of Marshall, CA.

The Coroner Division’s investigation into the cause, manner, and circumstances of the death are ongoing.  A post mortem examination and toxicology testing have been scheduled.  The case will be pending for toxicology results and the conclusion of the California Highway Patrol investigation.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time as this is an active investigation.
