RE: Package Thief arrested
Yesterday, on May 9th, West Marin Senior Services wmss.org made a request for patrol deputies to check the welfare and living conditions of one of their clients who lives on Appleberry Lane in Lucas Valley. The Care Manager believed that the client was possibly being abused financially and mentally by tenants who are renting rooms at the client’s house.
Deputies went to the house around 10:30am and upon approaching the front door found numerous “Amazon” boxes with the routing labels removed both outside and more inside the residence. Detectives responded out to the residence and ultimately applied for a search warrant to search the tenant’s rooms. Detectives found several more packages some with labels and many without containing possible stolen property. They also found suspected heroin and suspected cocaine in one of the bedrooms. The packages with legible labels were addressed to residences within the City of San Francisco.
The investigation determined that the tenant Alexander Reza-Hassan Sada, Age 40 has been driving into San Francisco to steal home delivered packages. He was booked into the Marin County Jail for Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Client, who was found to be ok, was not involved in the criminal activity that Sada was suspected of and was referred to the Care Manger for further assistance. Detectives are working with the United States Postal Inspector’s Office to identify victims of theft which may lead to additional charges against Sada.
