Pornography suspect arrested

On December 27th, the Sheriff’s Office took a report from a Mill Valley resident who found a device capable of storing images in the bathroom of the family home.  The resident was able to access the device and observed images of her minor child in various stages of undress.  The resident suspected a family friend of placing the device in the bathroom to surreptitiously capture images of her child. The family friend resides in the Los Angeles area and visits the family frequently. Detectives obtained a search warrant to examine the device and confirmed pornographic images existed.  Using this information, the detectives were able to obtain additional search warrants for the suspect’s person and residence looking for evidence related to this investigation.  The Sheriff’s Office learned that the suspect planned to  fly up to visit the family on Friday.  Detectives with the help of San Francisco PD – Airport Bureau and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office arrested Marcus Allen Williams, age 32 at the San Francisco International Airport when he arrived on his flight from Los Angeles.  Williams was booked into the Marin County Jail later that evening.  His charges include producing and possessing obscene matter of a minor under the age of 18 years.  As this arrest was occurring, a second group of Sheriff’s Office detectives along with detectives of the West Covina Police Department served a search warrant at Williams’ residence. They recovered additional potential evidence.  The electronic devices seized from Williams’ person and residence will require forensic examination to determine if additional charges will apply.  The investigation remains open and ongoing.  Lt. Steve de la O (415) 720-4607
