Armed Robbery Suspect Identified and Arrested

On December 29, 2023, at 1936 hours, Marin County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Chevron located at 580 Redwood Highway/Frontage Road in Strawberry for an armed robbery.

During the initial investigation, Deputies learned a black male adult entered the gas station dressed in a black jacket, black pants, and wearing a black facemask.  The suspect approached the clerk and pointed a black pistol at the clerk while demanding money from the register.  Fearful, the clerk complied with his demands, handing over cash from the register.  The suspect then fled the business. Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident.

During the initial investigation, on scene deputies gathered surveillance video from nearby businesses.  After an extensive review of collected video surveillance, detectives identified a suspect vehicle which was owned by a vehicle rental agency.  Detectives worked with the rental agency and after providing a search warrant to the agency, identified the renter of the vehicle.  After another series of search warrants and continued surveillance, the suspect was identified and determined to live in the City of Vacaville.

Through collaboration with regional partners and with the partnership of the Vacaville Police Department, suspect Angelo Willie Simmons, was successfully taken into custody for violation of California Penal Code 211, Robbery this morning.  Simmons was booked into the Marin County Jail where his bail amount was set at $75,000.

We want to thank @vacavillepolice for their assistance with the safe apprehension of the suspect and their continued partnership.
