Arrest made, COPE and SIU seize drugs for sale

During the month of November, Coordination of Probation Enforcement Detectives (COPE) became aware of a residence in Kentfield, near Bacich Elementary where known probationers were residing, one of them being Kenneth Metcalfe. Metcalfe had two outstanding Marin County warrants for his arrest and is on active Sonoma County Probation for Burglary (459 PC). COPE located and contacted Kenneth Metcalfe utilizing the Facebook Messenger Application. In speaking to Metcalfe, he offered to meet and sell the undercover detective suspected methamphetamine at a liquor store in Kentfield. COPE, with the assistance of the Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU), devised a plan to safely take Metcalfe into custody for offering to sell narcotics to an undercover detective and his outstanding warrants.

On 11/30/2023, Metcalfe arrived at the designated meeting location with the intent to sell an undercover officer 3.5 grams of methamphetamine. Metcalfe was placed under arrest for his outstanding warrant, possession of methamphetamine and methamphetamine sales. Metcalfe’s residence in Kentfield was searched pursuant to his probation terms where more narcotics and evidence were located, indicating possession with the intent to sale. Metcalfe resided in close proximity to Baccich Elementary School.

Metcalfe was booked into the Marin County Jail for his outstanding warrants, 11378(A) HS, and 11379(a)HS.
