Recently the Marin County Sheriff's Office, Special Investigations Unit (SIU) received information from Homeland Security Investigations Division (HSI) regarding 3.5 Kilos of GBL/GHB (date rape drug) being shipped to a nail salon in Fairfax. A suspicious mail package was seized by US Customs Agents and turned over to HSI , and ultimately Marin County Sheriff's SIU. With cooperation of the US Postal Service, a controlled delivery was performed at the nail salon. The suspect, identified as Long Tran took custody of drugs. Tran was arrested by SIU Detectives and a search warrant was served at his residence in San Francisco. Additional quantities of GBL/GHB were located at that residence.

In total, more than 3,500 doses of this drug were seized. The street value of these drugs are approximately $15,000-$20,000.
