On October 26, 2023, Detectives from the Marin County Specialized Investigations Unit and the Coordination of Probation Enforcement (COPE) Team contacted Richard Trieber in the area of 300 Channing Way, San Rafael. Trieber was known to have an outstanding warrant out of Marin County for felon in possession of a firearm.

 During the contact, Trieber was found in possession of a loaded, unregistered Glock 43X 9mm pistol in his front waistband, and approximately $1,093 in US currency. A search was conducted of Trieber’s vehicle and two fully loaded Glock 9 mm magazines, and a partially loaded FN 5.7-style magazine were located. Approximately one ounce of various narcotics including cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and ketamine were located, in addition to a digital scale and narcotic packaging materials.

 Trieber was placed under arrest for weapons related charges, including felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, along with narcotic sales charges, including possession of narcotics for the purposes of sale, possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of sales, and possession of controlled substances while armed with a firearm.
