On Monday January 08, 2024, at approximately 4:54 PM the San Rafael Police Department 9-1-1 Communications Center was notified of a family disturbance with violence within a Terra Linda apartment complex located in the 1000 block of Cresta Way. Emergency Services were immediately dispatched and upon the arrival of San Rafael Police Department Officers at the scene, they discovered a female victim in distress, who had sustained multiple stab wounds inflicted by another individual, later learned to be her daughter, and in need of immediate medical attention. Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after and provided emergent resuscitative medical aid and transported the victim with life threatening injuries to an area hospital for additional medical treatment. Tragically and regrettably, despite being provided extensive medical treatment the victim succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the hospital shortly in the Emergency Department.

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

Olivia Lucia BELTRAN PACHECO, a 55-year-old female from San Rafael.

A forensic postmortem examination with routine toxicology testing was completed yesterday, Tuesday January 09, 2024. The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the San Rafael Police Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division. No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation. Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the San Rafael Police Department.
