San Rafael Vehicle / Pedestrian Collision Fatality- Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                           

Tyrell Ramone FINLEY, a 36-year-old male from San Rafael.

On Saturday January 13, 2024, at approximately 7:55 PM, 9-1-1 was contacted reporting a vehicle collision with injuries had occurred on Second Street between A Street and Brooks Street. It was learned a sedan type vehicle travelling eastbound on Second Street struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway. First Responders were immediately dispatched and arrived on the scene shortly after and discovered an unconscious and unresponsive subject down in the roadway having sustained life-threatening injuries. The subject was provided with medical aid at the scene and transported emergently to an area hospital for additional treatment. Sadly, the subject succumbed to his injuries a short time after arriving at the hospital.

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Tyrell Ramone FINLEY, a 36-year-old male from San Rafael.

A forensic postmortem examination with routine toxicology testing has been completed. The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the San Rafael Police Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division. No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation. Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the San Rafael Police Department.
