On 12/8/23, Manuel Ajualip Ramirez (31 yrs, San Rafael) was arrested by MCSO detectives for arranging to meet a minor for sex, annoying a child under 18 and Resisting Arrest. 

The arrest was the result of an investigation that stemmed from a 13-year-old student who reported unwanted contact from an adult to their teacher, who in turn, reported it to School Resource Officer Devon Gasparini. SRO Gasparini’s investigation revealed 31-year-old Ramirez was soliciting the teen for sexual contact. Ramirez reached out to the teen through their Whatsapp account in an effort to solicit explicit photos and ultimately meet for sex. MCSO undercover detectives from the Specialized Investigative Unit surveilled the proposed meeting place and when Ramirez arrived, detectives identified themselves and attempted to place him under arrest. Ramirez fled and after a brief pursuit on foot detectives caught up with him. He violently resisted efforts to subdue him but was ultimately taken into custody. Ramirez was uninjured in the scuffle.
