The Documentary Services Division’s primary functions relate to receiving, maintaining, and processing legal documents. We work closely with the public, other law enforcement agencies, and our judicial counterparts as prescribed by law. Included in this division are the Civil, Records, and Warrants Divisions.
Civil Division – The Civil Division provides a full range of Civil services relating to service of process and enforcement of judgment. The Civil Division processes and serves:
- Earnings Withholding Orders (Wage Garnishments)
- Evictions
- Levies (Bank and Third Party)
- Restraining Orders
- Small Claims
Records Division – The Records Division processes and maintains crime and incident reports, as well as custody records for the County of Marin. The Records Division releases records as allowed by law; issues “Good Conduct” letters, registers Narcotic and Arson Offenders and provides Fingerprint/Live Scan services.
Warrants Divisions – The Warrants Division maintains, verifies, and processes all warrants issued by the Probation Department and the Marin County Superior Court.
