Security Camera Registration Program

Welcome to the Marin County Sheriff's Office voluntary security camera registration page

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office wants your help in fighting crime by taking part in our Security Camera Registration program.  This program allows residents and business owners to register the locations of their security cameras with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.   When a crime occurs, deputies and investigators will be able to identify the locations of nearby video cameras and enlist the assistance of the community to help collect vital video evidence which can be instrumental to solving major crimes.

Video surveillance is one of the best methods for apprehending criminals and convicting suspects who are caught in the act of committing a crime.

Involvement in this program is completely voluntary. The Marin County Sheriff's Office is not asking for unsupervised, remote access to your cameras.  We are simply trying to identify who has cameras and would be willing to assist us by providing their footage should there be a crime in your neighborhood.

The Security Camera Registration program is a great example of community-law enforcement partnerships, which is something we highly value at the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
