4th Boating Fatality Identity Released

Deceased male found on the rocky shoreline of Pt. Reyes National Seashore has been identified as David Breeden, a 39 year old resident of Windsor, CA.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

On May 10, 2015, at approximately 1645 hours, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division was notified by the National Park Service (NPS) a deceased male adult had been located approximately 2 miles south of Bird Rock on the rocky shoreline of the Pt. Reyes National Seashore in Marin County. NPS indicated the deceased male was located by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office helicopter (Henry-1) which had been conducting an aerial search of the area. Henry-1 extracted the deceased male and transported him to an area of Pierce Point Road where the Coroner Division was able to begin their investigation. 

The deceased male has been identified as David Breeden, a 39 year old resident of Windsor, CA. 

Mr. Breeden was a passenger on a recreational fishing vessel which departed Sonoma County the morning of 4/17/15 and was reported overdue and missing later in that evening. At this time all missing passengers from the fishing vessel have been recovered. A forensic examination was conducted on May 11, 2015 and the cause of the death is pending further forensic diagnostic studies. The Coroner Division has no further information to release on this investigation at this time.
