This morning around 6:00 am, Marin County Sheriff’s Office detectives, with the assistance of the San Jose Police Department, served a search warrant at the residence of Brett Blanton, age 19.  Blanton was identified as the individual who was captured on video stealing high priced cameras from several businesses in the greater Bay Area. It was a tip to Santa Rosa PD’s Sonoma County Alliance to “Take Back our Community” reward program that gave law enforcement the lead it needed to break this case. 

The MCSO Detectives found evidence linking Blanton to the theft that occurred at Mike’s Camera in Mill Valley, Ca.  Blanton is also a suspect in camera thefts from the following agencies; Santa Rosa PD, Campbell PD, Menlo Park PD, San Mateo County SO, San Jose PD and Pleasant Hill PD.

Blanton was booked into the Marin County Jail for Commercial Burglary, Penal Code 459.
