At 1:33am, Marin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received a call from Helen Vine Detox Center, reporting that staff members had been shot.
MCSO deputies arrived to find three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two individuals were transported to Marin General Hospital. Their condition is unknown. The third subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victims are all adults, two males and one female. The deceased subject was male. Ages and identifying information for the subjects is unknown at this time.
The unknown suspect fled the scene. MCSO searched the area with assistance from San Rafael Police Department, Novato Police Department, Central Marin Police Authority and the California Highway Patrol (CHP), including support from CHP’s helicopter unit. The suspect was not located. The immediate area is clear.
MCSO detectives are actively investigating the scene.
