Drug Bust- Marin SIU pulls narcotics off the street

During the month of November, the Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU) conducted a narcotics investigation involving James Holden Gardner, an 18-year-old resident of San Rafael.

As part of this investigation, an undercover detective participated in the purchase of suspected cocaine and alprazolam (Xanax) pills. Based on these undercover operations, a search warrant was obtained for Gardner’s residence in San Rafael.

Upon executing the search warrant, over 1,600 alprazolam (Xanax) pills were seized, along with 20 grams of suspected cocaine, 400 doses of suspected LSD, 40 grams of MDMA (Molly), 2 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, and 25 grams of Ketamine. Over $7000 cash was seized as evidence of drug sales. Additionally, two unregistered 9mm handguns were recovered from two individuals.

As a result of these findings, Gardner and Miguel Sanchez Ceja were arrested and subsequently booked into the Marin County Jail on a multitude of drug-related and weapons charges.

The Marin County SIU comprises detectives from various law enforcement agencies, including the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Novato Police Department, San Rafael Police Department, Central Marin Police Authority, California Highway Patrol, and the Marin County Probation Department. The SIU’s primary focus is on narcotic crimes and those related to narcotics within the County of Marin.
