In 2021 our Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU) Detectives developed information that led them to believe a subject by the name of Christopher Rougeau was selling crystal methamphetamine and marijuana throughout the Bay Area including Marin County.

An investigation was opened and an undercover SIU Detective contacted Rougeau and arranged to purchase a quarter pound of crystal methamphetamine from him.  This transaction occurred in unincorporated Novato.  During the ensuing investigation, Rougeau offered to sell the undercover Detective methamphetamine on several more occasions, but these transactions did not occur.

Surveillance was conducted on Rougeau and Detectives saw that he was armed with more than one handgun on several occasions.  A plan was developed to take Rougeau into custody on 4/20/22.  He was followed to a location in Vallejo, Ca. where he was contacted by SIU Detectives while in the driver’s seat of his car.  At the time of his arrest, he had a loaded pistol in his waistband and a loaded un-serialized Polymer 80 Glock clone pistol within arm’s reach inside of his vehicle. 

During the service of the search warrant of Rougeau’s vehicle and residence, SIU detectives located the following: 2 devices called “Glock Switches” (which turn a Glock pistol into a fully automatic machine gun), a sawed off pistol grip shotgun, another pistol, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, several suspected controlled substances including; over a quarter pound of crystal methamphetamine, approximately 1 ounce of cocaine, approximately 1 ounce of heroin, counterfeit M-30 pills containing fentanyl, and over 60 pounds of marijuana.

Rougeau was booked at the Solano County Jail for the following charges:

Additionally, a complaint for charges is being sought in the Marin County Superior Court for the sale of crystal methamphetamine to the undercover Detective.  This case is currently being considered for Federal prosecution.
