Human Remains of Missing Person Located Deceased- Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Mai Sai VUE, an 18-year-old female, from Sacramento, CA.

On Thursday November 28, 2024, at approximately 10:27 AM the lifeless remains of a human body were discovered on the shoreline fronting Point San Pedro near McNears Beach in San Rafael beside the Bay waters. Due to the precarious and difficult to access location of the found remains, the subject was recovered by Marin County Search and Rescue Team personnel with the aid of other First Responders. Due to the presenting poor physiologic condition of the body, death was declared at the scene without any resuscitative aid provided. During the investigation to date, it has been confirmed the subject was a female, who reportedly went missing from San Francisco while attending a concert venue with friends / family members on October 31, 2024. Due to her extended exposure to the aquatic environment and elements, her positive identification necessitated being confirmed via scientific means, which delayed the release of her identity. At the time of this writing and in progress death investigation, no overt signs of foul play have been detected upon the remains.

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Mai Sai VUE, an 18-year-old female, from Sacramento, CA.

A forensic postmortem examination with routine toxicology testing is pending completion. The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the San Francisco Police Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division. No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation. Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the San Francisco Police Department.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and personnel of the Coroner Division offers our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Vue.
