Marin City Homicide - Update

Victim identified - looking for witnesses. 

On July 14th, 2020 around 8:00PM, our 911 communications center received several reports of shots being fired in the 400 block of Drake Avenue in Marin City. Deputies along with Marin County Fire and Southern Marin Fire responded to the scene. Upon arrival, a victim was located suffering from apparent gun shots wounds and unresponsive. Deputies and Fire personnel performed life-saving efforts on the victim who was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Tiyon Tony FORD, a 42-year-old male from Marin City, CA.

It is reported there were several witnesses to the shooting and we want your help.

A forensic post mortem examination and toxicology testing has been scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2020.   The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigation being completed by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office -Investigations Bureau and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office-Coroner Division.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
