Marin City Shooting Now Active Homicide Investigation

Marin City shooting leaves one deceased, homicide investigation underway.

On July 14th, 2020 around 8:00PM, our 911 communications center received several reports of shots being fired in the 400 block of Drake Avenue in Marin City. Deputies along with Marin County Fire and Southern Marin Fire responded to the scene. Upon arrival, a victim was located suffering from apparent gun shots wounds and unresponsive. Deputies and Fire personnel performed life-saving efforts on the victim who was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

At this time, Detectives are still actively working the investigation. Due to the early stages of this investigation, no further information will be released at this time. Further information will be released via press release at a later date.

Identifying information for the victim is being withheld at this time until proper notification of Next of Kin by the Marin County Coroner’s Office.
