On Saturday, April 29th, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) 13th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day event. This event is an opportunity for the community to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
Residents had the chance to bring pills for disposal to either the Marinwood Fire Station (775 Miller Creek Rd., San Rafael) or the Marin City Public Safety Building (850 Drake Ave., Marin City). The event proved to be a huge success as deputies collected an estimated 138 pounds! We would like to thank the Marin Community for coming together to participate in such an important initiative for public health and safety.
