During the month of September, the Roseville Police Department conducted a four-day undercover sting operation to catch internet child predators, (Operation “Gotta Catch Them All”). After the operation a Detective from the Roseville Police Department reached out to Detectives at the Marin County Sheriff’s Office regarding a suspect from this operation who resided in unincorporated Mill Valley. Roseville PD Detectives requested assistance in verifying the suspect lived at the house they believed, and with serving the arrest warrant.
Based on the information provided by Roseville PD, Marin County Sheriff’s Office Detectives sought a search warrant to search the house and vehicle of the suspect.
On the morning of 9/26/24, Roseville PD Detectives arrested the suspect in this case while he was leaving for work. Once the suspect was placed under arrest, the Marin County Sheriff’s Detectives executed the search warrant at his residence. During the search, 11 unregistered firearms were located along with several hundred rounds of ammunition. The suspect in this case was convicted of a felony in 2019 and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. One of the firearms located was an un-serialized AR-15 that had been manufactured from an 80% lower receiver. The suspect was booked into the Marin County Jail on an arrest warrant and the new charges of 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of a firearm, 30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of ammunition, 30605 PC – Possession of an unregistered assault weapon, 29180 PC – Possession of an un-serialized firearm. The bail amount for the Roseville PD warrant is $500,000 and the Marin County charges add an additional bail amount of $50,000.
