Mill Valley U.S. 101 Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Collision Fatality- Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:                                                                         

Andrew Warner BARONE, a 35 -year-old male  from Lockport, NY.

On Sunday, April 17, 2022, at approximately at approximately 9:53 PM, a solo vehicle vs. pedestrian collision was reported to 9-1-1 having occurred on southbound U.S. Highway 101 at Seminary Drive, Mill Valley. For reasons which are unknown and remain under investigation, a pedestrian had been walking on U.S. Highway 101 in the travel lanes of the roadway and was struck by a motorist travelling at highway speeds.  First Responders were immediately dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival located a male subject unresponsive and unconscious with multiple blunt impact injuries consistent with having been struck by a vehicle.  His death was pronounced on the scene by paramedics.

Andrew Warner BARONE, a 35 -year-old male  from Lockport, NY.

A forensic postmortem examination with toxicology testing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, 2022.  The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the California Highway Patrol – Marin Division and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol – Marin Division.
