Missing Santa Rosa Man Discovered Deceased in Corte Madera

The decedent has been identified as:        

Felix Manuel MAGANA, a 21-year-old male from Santa Rosa, CA    

On Sunday, 09/23/2018, at approximately 09:01 A.M., 9-1-1 was contacted by a passing hiker, who reported the discovery of a lifeless person in an isolated open space area, located near a hiking trail west of a pedestrian walking-bicycle path, which traversed an area known as Horse Hill and Alto Hill in Corte Madera.  First Responders were summoned to the scene and pronounced the subject deceased. 

On Monday, 09/10/2018, the subject had been reported to authorities by family members as suffering from unspecified mental health issues, being at risk and missing after not returning home from a walk.  Information developed during the investigation and evidence discovered at the incident scene was supportive this was an isolated incident with no threat to the community.  

The decedent has been identified as:

Felix Manuel MAGANA, a 21-year-old male from Santa Rosa, CA   

A Forensic Post Mortem examination was completed today.  The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigation being completed by the California Highway Patrol and this office.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the California Highway Patrol, Marin Office.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and personnel of the Coroner Division offers our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Magana.
