Narcotics investigation leads to seizure of over 3lbs of Fentanyl

Arrested: Angel Henrriquez, a 22 year old male from Oakland, CA.

Jesus Samael Irias Gamaz, a 26 year old male from Oakland, CA.

Over the last several months, our Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU) Detectives developed information that led them to believe a subject by the name of Jesus Samael Irias Gamaz was selling Fentanyl in the County of Marin.

An investigation was opened and an undercover SIU Detective contacted Irias Gamaz and arranged to purchase Fentanyl from him.  These transactions occurred in the county of Marin.  During the ensuing investigation, Irias Gamaz agreed to and sold more than 10 ounces of Fentanyl to the undercover SIU Detective.

The investigation into Irias Gamaz and his associates came to an end on Wednesday evening when Detectives arrested him and Henrriquez in the city of San Rafael during a narcotics transaction. They were found to be in possession of the following narcotics when he was arrested:

  • Approximately 1lb of suspected fentanyl packaged for sales.
  • A functioning digital scale.

Detectives also obtained a search warrant signed by a Marin County Judge authorizing the search of a residence in Oakland. Detectives located the following in the residence:

·       Approximately $3,000 in US currency.

·       A kilo (2.2lbs) of suspected fentanyl.

Both were booked into the Marin County Jail for a multitude of charges stemming from the investigation. An SIU Detective obtained a $500,000 bail enhancement on Irias Gomez and a $150,000 bail enhancement on Henrriquez.

The Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU) takes a proactive approach to investigate narcotics related criminal activity within the County of Marin.
