Novato Motor Vehicle – Pedestrian Collision Fatality - Identity Released

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Ms. Melissa Elaine HISEL, a 25-year-old female with no fixed address from Santa Rosa, CA.

Monday morning, June 08, 2020 at approximately 5:07 A. M. it was reported to 9-1-1 a female subject was discovered unresponsive and unconscious in the center of the roadway near the 7600 block of Redwood Boulevard, Novato.   First Responders were immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived shortly after too discover a female victim having been struck by a motor vehicle.  The subject was provided medical aid and emergently transported to the hospital in critical condition.  Despite aggressive resuscitative efforts provided, sadly she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival in the Emergency Department.

The decedent has been positively identified as:

Ms. Melissa Elaine HISEL, a 25-year-old female with no fixed address from Santa Rosa, CA.

A forensic post mortem examination and toxicology testing has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2020.  The cause and manner of death will be pending the conclusion of the investigation being completed by the Novato Police Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office - Coroner Division.  No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any further questions regarding the incident should be directed to the Novato Police Department.
