In January of 2025, Detectives with the Specialized Investigative Unit became aware of a subject, later identified as Nathan Picco of San Francisco, who was suspected of transporting methamphetamine and fentanyl into the County of Marin.
On 01/24/25, an SIU detective, working in an undercover capacity, engaged in telephone communication with Picco. During the conversation, Picco offered to sell the detective a half pound of methamphetamine and an ounce of fentanyl. Picco advised the undercover detective he would deliver the methamphetamine to him first, then would then make a second trip later the same day to deliver the fentanyl.
Picco was detained by SIU detectives during an undercover buy operation in Marin City, CA. During a search of Picco, over a half pound of suspected methamphetamine, a personal amount of suspected heroin, and a collapsible baton were found in his possession.
Picco was found to be on San Francisco County probation for a burglary conviction, which had occurred in Marin County in 2022.
Picco was placed under arrest for possession with intent for sale of controlled substances, possession of a prohibited weapon, and offering to sell controlled substances and narcotics to an undercover detective. He was booked into Marin County Jail and bail was set at $30,000.
