First Quarter 2022 statistics for sUAS Team deployments by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office

01/11/2022 – Mission Type: Assist Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division with Explosive Investigation.

Case: SO22-79

Offense: N/A

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division, requested assistance with locating the source of several explosions being heard in the area of the 5800 block of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Three flights were conducted for a total flight time of 56 minutes. Nothing suspicious was located during this mission.

02/15/22 – Mission Type: Assist the Central Marin Police Authority with Evidence Search / Documentation of Crime Scene.

Offense: N/A

The sUAS Team was requested to assist the Central Marin Police Authority with documenting a crime scene and an evidence search after a crime occurred in their jurisdiction. Four flights over the crime scene were conducted for a total flight time of 32 minutes. 

02/15/22 – Mission Type: Assist the San Rafael Police Department with a Search for an At-Risk Missing Person.

Offense: N/A

The San Rafael Police Department requested the assistance of the sUAS Team to assist with a search for an at-risk missing person. 2 flights for a total of 25 minutes of flight time was conducted. The missing person was not located.  

03/03/22 – Mission Type: Assist the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Investigations Division, with Documentation of a Crime Scene.

Offense: 187PC

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Investigations Division, requested the sUAS team capture aerial video evidence of a homicide scene. Five flights were conducted for a total flight time of 28 minutes.
